Germany just crossed 85% Electricity from Renewables



Germany becomes one of very first countries to generate 85% of it’s elecricity needs through renewables on 30th of April 2017. It is a major breakthrough. Germany with this achivement has set new example for other countries to follow the same especially in europe. “Most of Germany’s coal-fired power stations were not even operating on Sunday, April 30,” Patrick Graichen of the Agora Energiewende initiative told Renew Economy.


Howerver, Germany is not the only one who is setting examples in generating enery from renewables.

Canada produced 66% of it’s energy through renewables in 2015. Aorund 90 percent of new energy sources are added to the europe’s power grid in 2016. It signals that the whole europe continent is willing to shift towards green and clean energy, evenn poor nations are transferring to renewable sources.
